Fieldsend Wedding Photography | Sheffield

On the 7th April 2012 I had the pleasure of photographing Debbie and Tom Fieldsend’s wedding at the bandstand in Weston Park and the reception afterwards at the Norfolk Arms. This was one of the friendliest weddings I’ve photographed and as you can see from the photos below I was able to capture lots of candid shots of happy wedding guests! There was a real sense of fun and this continued long into the night at the reception where the guests took full advantage of the photo booth I set up (when they weren’t busy dancing at the awesome ceilidh).

Debbie and Tom love nature and an outdoor wedding was perfect for them.  Debbie had requested that she be near trees in the bride and groom portraits and luckily for us the cherry blossom trees were in full bloom and made a perfect backdrop. The beautiful  surroundings combined with the great natural light created romantic, contrasting, light and airy photos. The confetti-like blossom on the ground couldn’t have been more perfectly placed for a spring wedding!

Being an animal lover, Debbie had initially wanted to arrive in a horse and carriage. Sadly for  her this wasn’t possible, but it did mean that I had two really cool vintage cars to photograph! In a previous post I suggested sending a gift to your husband or wife to be on the morning of the wedding, and Debbie was one step ahead as she sent Tom a pocket watch which provided a great photo opportunity for me and a lovely start to the day for Tom.

Debbie and Tom were not only a friendly couple, but a lucky one too! They had entered and won a competition to win a wedding, so a lot of the services on the day they got for free.  Fortunately for me they valued the importance of having a great photographer to record their day and I loved shooting the beginning of their marriage (especially their first dance!) Another great thing about this wedding was the groom and best man speeches, which were some of the best I’ve heard, but you guys will have to trust me on that. I think the faces of the guests in the photos will back me up!

Here are a selection of photos from the day, I’d love to know your thoughts on them.
